“I’ll be back”… three more times to be precise

Words by Kevin Winfield

When Arnold Schwarzenegger uttered those three famous words as the Terminator we had no idea he was being so literal. Well it seems now we’re going to pay for that ignorance.

James Middleton, a consulting producer for yet another franchise cash-in, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, has announced the plan for a second trilogy with the first installment to come as early as 2009. You would think that those high-paid movie execs would’ve learned their lesson from the second Star Wars trilogy.

One of the new movies in the saga is set to follow the war of the machines so at the very least we’ll get to see what all the fuss was about. It’s unlikely that Arnie will be reprising his role as the leather-clad, bike-riding, shotgun-carrying android. Middleton announced a new hero is being introduced. So it looks like the Arnie-bot has been recycled for the final time. Though the return of Claire Danes and Nick Stahl (from T3) has been left open if that’s any consolation…
