An AT-AT's Life

We were planning to post a hard-hitting serious news story about some technological innovation or other, but that was before we spotted this video of one man and his pet Star Wars killing machine...

New Watchmen Material

Watchmen, Watchmen, Watchmen that's all we ever talk about. But seriously have you read the book? It's awesome. And we're utterly loving all the effort that's gone into promoting this movie, the attention to detail is fabulous. So here's some new bits. The Newfrontiersman has it's own youtube channel where they're broadcasting some ancillary materil for the movie. Check out a government information video about the Keene Act and a clip from the NBS nightly news about Dr Manhattan, below.

Gran Torino trailer: Clint is ACTION GRANDAD!

You can forget about Stallone, Ford or Mickey Rourke. In one fell swoop, Clint trumps the comeback action hero whipper-snappers, simply by being EVEN OLDER than all of them. Put together.

In his new movie GRAN TORINO, he plays a grouchy, racist Korean war vet who loses his marbles when the local gangstas take a shine to his beloved 1972 Ford Gran Torino (a brown old-man version of the Starsky & Hutch car).

178 years old and still kicking people in the head, punching them in the face and pointing guns at them. If all grandads were as hard as this, teenage knife crime would be reduced to zero within three months.

RESPECT YOUR ELDERS, DAMMIT! Watch the trailer here...

Guns, Revenge & Polar Bears

If we know our readers well (and we hope we do), we’re fairly sure you’re pre-order kinda guys (and girls) and so rare is the Monday when you haven’t already decided what to buy that week. But say you’d forgotten, here be our pick of this week’s new releases:

Lost: Season 4 – only 14 episodes due to the Writers’ Strike but essential viewing as ever, as the one-time passengers of Flight 815 time travel. Who’s in the coffin?

Wanted – a skeletal Angelina Jolie teaches a bulked up James McAvoy to KILL. With an array of fancy-ass guns so glamorous the posters have since been banned. Result!

Last House On The Left: Ultimate Edition – three discs of cult unpleasantness from the man who would one day direct Meryl Streep as an inner-city violin teacher.
