Monday October 13, 2008 Who's Better, Who's Best? A quick word about our beloved sister publication SFX and their ace new issue, hitting shelves a week on Wednesday (October 22). It's a split run of 10 different Doctor Who covers, from William Hartnell to David Tennant via Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann and Christopher Eccleston. We're fans of terror, here at DVD & Blu-ray Review, whether it comes in disc, deadline or theme-park-ride form. So imagine our collective delight upon learning of the Saw ride, opening at Thorpe Park in spring 2009. Given that one of the most profitable trilogies of all time is itself a Disneyland spin-off, we can't quite believe it's taken this long for a family theme park to embrace the concept of a homicidal maniac slaughtering his victims in an inventive fashion and marry it to a vertical-drop rollercoaster. About time! |
