Gravel Pit to Bloodbath...

Wu-Tang rapper dude RZA is reportedly gearing up to make his directorial debut in the form of brutally bloody martial arts flick, The Man With The Iron Fist (nothing to do with the dragon-fighting Marvel superhero). No news yet on the production schedule.

Rappers dabbling in the movie world can go either way: Eminem in 8 Mile - good. Mos Def in Be Kind Rewind - good. Snoop Dogg's Hood of Horror - dubious. However apparently RZA is a 'student' of  movie magpie Quentin Tarantino - he says he's been under his tutlage for years - and his mentor has given the project his blessing. Another of The Chin's protege's, Eli Roth, is set to produce. The man credited with the birth of the delightful 'torture porn' horror sub-genre has said of the project 'Yes, there will be blood… This ain't no PG-13'. So depending on your view this could either be a stylish frenetic martial arts flick full of Tarantino-cool and Roth-grue, or it'll be derivative, base and a bit pointless. Or just ok.

Check out our interview with Tarantino in the next packed issue of DVD & Blu-ray Review, in the shops 24 July
